A few of our team members recently took a short day-trip around the Saanich Peninsula in search of delicious Dungeness and Rock crab here in our backyard. They took our 2500 Line Puller with it's powerful, high-torque 12 volt motor, and had a blast with it. If you'd like to give it a go yourself, the 2500 will help you make short work of it, retrieving 1 crab trap, or 4 prawn traps at a speed of 120 feet per minute. Here's a real-time screen recording of the Thermocline Mode in action with the Scotty Seeker™ powered by Airmar Technology. At the top of the screen, you'll see the probe number, and a depth indicator changing as the probe descends into the water. The graph illustrates water temperature in the Y (horizontal) axis, and depth in the X (vertical axis), giving you a clear visual model of how temperature is changing as the probe moves up, or down through the water column. As you can see, it's remarkably fast and easy to mark where the thermocline is located, and pinpoint your bait presentation in ideal conditions.
